Winery

We live in Freinsheim and cultivate 20 hectares of vineyards in the Mittelhaardt. Our main varieties are Riesling and Pinot Noir. Our work is certified organic. We are proud to be able to contribute to a responsible approach to nature in this way.

Our aim is to combine traditional quality winegrowing with modern vinification without making to much of a good thing. Trusting the vineyards and the grapes and bringing more peace to the cellar is what we are all about. Solid craftsmanship, knowledge and experience are nothing without intuition and inspiration.

20 HECTARES AND NO HOCUS-POCUS. WITH RESPECT FOR NATURE, WE AIM TO PRODUCE AUTHENTIC WINES THAT TASTE GOOD AND TELL THEIR STORY.

OUR WINE TELLS THE STORY OF HEAT, COLD, STORM AND RAIN, OF NATURE AND THE PEOPLE INVOLVED IN ITS CREATION.

Family

Jürgen Krebs

My wines are always a reflection of my personality. They are as true to themselves as I am to myself - they don't have to set trends. My (great) winemaker's heart is happy when they are expressive and timelessly inspiring.

I'm probably your prototype when it comes to the famous Palatinate joy of life. It is important for me to share my passion for wine. I have always liked to look beyond the Freinsheim horizon. Every vintage is different, but every vintage bears my signature. I want to bring out the origin and character of the vineyard and make it tangible. And I do this with an unconditional commitment to quality - for the vineyard, for the grapes and for myself.

Ann-Kathrin (Ati) Krebs

Unusual for a native North German, but during my studies of Scandinavian Studies, in addition to my fascination for Iceland, Sweden & Co. I was gripped by “winefever”. And that's how I ended up in the Palatinate with my passion. Jürgen, with his Palatine temperament, and my North German composure have made a strong team. With me you don't get the wine tasting in the Palatinate dialect, but in High German, English or Swedish, and in any case with a lot of enthusiasm and dedication.

Heidrun & Harald Krebs

Our (in-law) parents, have bravely faced the challenges of a wine year for decades. Together they switched to bottling in 1989 and have impressively laid the foundations for the current design and structure of the winery. While Heidrun takes care of the office, warehouse, wine sales and she is our oasis of well-being, Harald takes care of the outdoor work according to the seasons and vegetation, the quality of our soils and vines is based on his experience and craftsmanship.

WE ARE ALL ABOUT WINE, 365 DAYS A YEAR. EACH OF US BRINGS HIS OR HER OWN PERSONAL PASSION TO OUR WORK.

THE SOILS OF OUR VINEYARDS ARE THE BASIS FOR THE EXPRESSIVENESS OF OUR WINES.

Region

The geology of Freinsheim and the surrounding area is a veritable potpourri of soils. From (quartz) sand to gravel, loess, clay and limestone, there is a whole range of soils on which our grape varieties mature and give our wines their individual character.
